Introduction to BlackBerry Device Manager

- BlackBerry Device Manager is designed to connect your BlackBerry smartphone to you local area network (LAN) when your BlackBerry smartphone is connected to your computer via serial or USB cable or a Bluetooth connection. When you BlackBerry smartphone is connected via your LAN, data is not transferred using your wireless service provider’s network.

- The Device Connection tab is where you will see the available USB and communications (COM) ports and any BlackBerry smartphones connected to them. This tab is also where you would configure disabled ports, enable Bluetooth support, and set the BlackBerry Device Manager to start when you start your computer.

- The Statistics tab lets you do the following: view how long your BlackBerry smartphone has been connected to your computer, determine which server your BlackBerry smartphone is connected to, veiw the records of data sent and recieved by your BlackBerry smartphone, view the total amountof data sent and recieved by your BlackBerry smartphone since it was configured, and reset the statistics gathered by the BlackBerry Device Manager.

- The BlackBerry Router Configuration tab lets you do the following: view router information, enable and add user-defined routers, and delete routers.

- The About tab is where you view information about the Blackberry Device Manager.
